In Focus | La Muralla Roja
La Muralla Roja - the breathtaking apartment complex perched on a cliff top in Calpe, Spain is one of my absolute favourite buildings. Designed by Ricardo Bofill and built in 1973, the extremely photogenic building is as popular now as when it was first built. Translating to The Red Wall, La Muralla Rosa, is a celebration of colour and form. The striking pastel colours which cover the outer and inner facades were selected to either contrast with nature or complement its purity. The forms of the building create a collection of interconnected patios, providing access to the 50 apartments. Lucky for us there are a few apartments to rent via Airbnb... book me in please!
