These days, we’re spending more time in our homes, and if we’re really lucky, in our beds. We look at some of our favourite bed linen products currently on the market.

‘There is so much to love with linen bedding, the way it feels and the way it looks on a bed,’ says Chloe Tazer from CLO Studios. Photo: Jessie Prince from The Quarter Acre.

‘Layered together, Rose and Moss create a softly contrasting and warm finish,’ says Phoebe Yu. Photo: Courtesty of ettitude.

Jardan

Like most pieces in the Jardan collection, their bedding range is something that we desperately want in our homes. The Stonewash collection is crafted from a 100 per cent combed cotton, making it smooth and soft, with a hint of crispness. The 200 thread count percale cotton is finished with a stonewash pre-wash, ensuring an ultra-soft feel. The range includes colours such as Stonewash Clay, Organic Sand and Rose Quartz Stripe and is designed to be mixed and matched to create a look that is uniquely yours.

CLO Studios

The collections at CLO Studios are focused on beautiful pieces that are sourced from around the globe, creating a unique aesthetic and energy.

Within the range is bedding brand Hale Mercantile, a perfect fit for CLO’s tightly and thoughtfully curated collection.

‘The bed linen has an inviting and lux feeling to it, whether it’s styled in an undone way, or a bed made with lots of purpose,’ says Chloe Tazer from CLO Studios, ‘we adore adding feature cushions to a bed too, as it’s such a fun way to add pattern and interest, while playing with Hale’s extensive colour range.’

ettitude

Founded by Phoebe Yu in 2014, Ettitude offers a high-quality alternative to traditional homewares, which is also affordable and focused on ensuring minimal environmental impact.

There are two new colours in Ettitude’s signature bedding collection, which is made from CleanBambooTM, sustainably made from responsibly-sourced 100% organic bamboo.

‘Rose and Moss are a continuation of our nature-inspired colour series, which draw inspiration from the beauty of the natural world, and aim to remind us of why it’s so important that we treat it with care,’ says Phoebe.

Castle

It’s no secret we’ve been die-hard fans of Castle since the very beginning. The creation of artist and designer Rachel Castle, the bed linen in the Castle collection taps into Rachel’s intuitive sense of colour and pattern.

The printed velvet and graphic printed linen bedding is perfect for layering.

‘Layering is really practical. It means you can combine old and new pieces, different styles, different textures, palettes and seasons – you can change the style up really quickly and affordably, and then of course this means you can grow and keep your collections, better for the environment this way too,’ says Rachel.

Good quality bedding is one of life’s accessible luxuries. The old thing about one third of your life asleep is the best excuse ever to prioritise the quality of those really important waking and falling asleep moments.

Bed Threads

Bed Threads has gained somewhat of a cult following since launching a mere four years ago. Perhaps its their use of French flax linen or the irresistible colour palette with combinations you can throw together such as Peach paired with Lilac, or Pink Clay with Rosewater.

The focus for founder Genevieve Rosen-Biller is simple: high-quality bedding that’s simple to wash, easy on the environment, affordable and beautiful.

The collection now includes 22 colours – and counting!

CULTIVER

Since launching in 2012, Sydney-based linen curators Cultiver have also developed their own cult following.

The Cultiver collection includes pieces which can be used throughout the home including bedding, table cloths and bath towels.

The new Freya linen throw is the perfect layering piece for the cooler seasons. Woven from heavyweight pure linen, it’s finished with a delicate eyelash fringe and double stitch detailing in neutral tones such as Snow, Blush and Fawn.

Kip & Co

The new High Winter 2021 home collection from Kip & Co is nothing short of a miracle.

The collection was designed back in 2019 and originally due to launch in 2020. Due to lockdowns faced by their suppliers, it got a little held up on the way. Thankfully by some wild decisions of the freight gods, the new collection has just landed. Phew!

The range features three key prints; a signature animal print, Madagascar Earth, that evokes Hollywood glamour, a bold, masculine check Black & White Gingham (pictured), both of which contrast strikingly with the delicate floral, Bush Flowers. We’re in love!

Abode Living

Operating from their Camberwell headquarters for over 20 years and owned and run by the Adairs family, Abode Living has a passion for luxury textiles with a firm focus on bedding products that are world-class quality.

‘Our search for world-class quality is never quite over. Second-best doesn’t quite cut it for us,’ shares Robert Adair.

Abode has become synonymous with quality; producing most of their bed linen using the very best fabrics sourced from Milan, Italy and down and feather bedding products sourced from Europe. All their exclusive products are hand-sewn and made with love and care.

The best part about making almost all their products locally in Melbourne, is that Abode are able to offer a totally bespoke service, offering custom bedlinen, bedding, table linen and soft furnishings for interior designers and special projects.
