City Guide | New York
Although almost an impossible feat, we share our favourite destinations from the city that never sleeps.
Buvette
Inspired by European traditions that honor a history of craft and design, Buvette opened its doors in early 2011 by Chef Jody Williams. Established in the historic and charming West Village neighborhood in New York, Buvette has been the spot to walk in at any time of day to enjoy an espresso, a lunch with an old friend, or a cocktail at the bar in the early hours of the morning.

Sister City Hotel
Atelier Ace, the in-house creative team behind the Ace Hotel chain, has added another outpost to their NYC repertoire with the Sister City Hotel. Located on the border of the Lower East Side and Soho in the thick of downtown Manhattan action, the hotel caters to contemporary travellers, with design elements which are minimal but deliberate. Complete with a generative soundtrack for the lobby created by Björk, this is one smooth hotel experience.

Bar Pisellino
In the heart of West Village is Bar Pisellino, run by award-winning chefs Rita Sodi and Jody Williams. Think espresso and aperitivi alongside bomboloni alla crema, panini farciti and spuntini, all served in celebration of the classic Italian bar. Dedicated to the Italian art of drinking, Bar Pisellino also specialises in wine and cocktails from a collection of amari and vermouth. Enjoy your apertivo al fresco on the sidewalk or al banco atop a curved marble counter at the perfect height for standing with our maestro bartenders. Bellissimo!

Apparatus Studio
The incredibly beautiful Apparatus Studio studio space in Manhattan serves as a gathering point for clients and designers, as well as designers’ Gabriel Hendifar and Jeremy Anderson creative laboratory. The studio is available to visit by appointment only – the workplace reveals no sign of the artisanal making process. Instead it boasts a lovingly presented collection of lighting and objects, amongst a mix of enviable selection of furniture and artwork.

Still House
Launched in 2003 as a collection of minimal pieces made from ethically sources materials, Still House is full of design and jewellery products which are impeccably curated and presented. The considered selection of home goods and fine jewellery line the shelves of the simple and timeless interior. The East Village location also hosts special exhibits which engage the local community in conversation about creativity and design.
