Based in Noosa, CLO Studios is very much a family affair.

Headed by Chloe Tozer, the tight-knit team includes almost all of Chloe’s family, including her interior designer mother, Trudy.

‘We work together – and we all still love each other!’ laughs Chloe.

Family values are at the core of everything CLO Studios does.

‘All our team members become extended members of our family. We often refer to them as the CLO family.’

The CLO journey started in 2016 after Chloe completed a fine arts degree and she was itching to start her own jewellery-design brand. Named after Chloe’s childhood nickname, the initial idea was to create a jewellery studio space where Chloe could make and sell her creations in a retail space. But this idea quickly evolved into something more.

‘With the help of Mum, we created a shop; from showcasing jewellery, to furniture and homewares.’

The response was instant: everyone wanted whatever the Tozers had to offer and, soon after the store opened, CLO Studios expanded into the space next door to allow for more room.

I think it’s beautiful to see pieces come together from around the globe. They create a really unique aesthetic and energy.

It was at this time that Chloe and her partner, Jack, started travelling overseas to find unique products made by artisans from around the world.

‘Our goal was to showcase fewer common brands and products. This led to designing our own furniture and homewares ranges,’ says Chloe.

Today, CLO Studios imports furniture and homeware pieces from Morocco, Indonesia, China, Europe and Malaysia – the CLO aesthetic is global, drawing on different styles and cultures.

‘All our furniture lends itself to the Noosa laid-back lifestyle but there’s also a modern, fun edge to it.’

CLO offers styling consulting in the showroom for small items as well as a full interior-design service for new builds and renovations. To say the business has grown in leaps and bounds would be an understatement!

No matter how quickly the brand evolves, high on the priority list for Chloe and family is the importance of community.

‘Community is very important to us and we love to use our space for multiple purposes; we hold annual art exhibitions, laneway parties, pop-up markets, shopping nights and live music afternoons. We believe as we grow it’s so important to give back.’

The CLO family have some exciting projects in the pipeline for the year ahead, namely a CLO Studios house, which is a renovation by the sea, and much more. We can’t wait to see what’s in store!
