Located a mere 20 minutes south of Melbourne, Littlewood is a highly functional, warm and detailed space fit for a young family. The home balances practicality and beauty in perfect harmony—the creative partnership between the McKimm family; Alicia, co-founder of GOLDEN, and her partner Jon, director of InForm.

Littlewood is a testament to thoughtful design and collaboration, blending functionality with warmth and intricate details to create a home that's perfectly suited to the ever-changing needs of a growing family.

Husband and wife, Alicia and Jon’s shared vision brought their unique design perspectives together—while Jon focused on the operational and financial decisions, Alicia designed the interiors. The result is a welcoming and highly functional home that’s equipped to take on the family's needs, made up of three young children and their dog, Peach.

On entry, the home greets guests with a foyer-like entry, which leads through the side of the house, creating a sense of discovery as you move through the space.

The ground floor was created around a central core that pulls you in and flows seamlessly into the expansive outdoor area. On the upper level, a distinctive private retreat holds the master suite, a rumpus room, and the children’s rooms.

Natural materials take center stage throughout the spaces within the home, bringing warmth and texture to each room. The entry features Italian terracotta tiles, which continue into the main living areas and mudroom.

In the kitchen, a bold deep red marble bench serves as the focal point, while a stainless-steel rear bench adds a practical touch. Custom burgundy-stained walls add drama to the home’s core before leading to the upstairs rooms. Alicia and Jon worked closely with Mobilia to select the furniture that complements the overall design.

The powder room is a sensory experience—with soft pink stone, waxed plaster (echoing the front door), and intricate Moroccan tiles coming together to create a theatrical yet calming space. In the master ensuite, custom Elba marble adds depth, while green quartzite wraps the vanity, and microcement grounds the luxurious feel of the marble.

‘Littlewood has the signature of a GOLDEN project, imbuing harmony through timeless originality while still being long-lasting,’ shares Alicia of the interior design elements.

Every room in the home offers views of the lush surrounding greenery. On the ground floor, the flow of space around the main living area is enhanced by sightlines to both the front and rear gardens. In the study, a floor-to-ceiling sliding door opens seamlessly to the garden.

With its thoughtful use of materials and design elements, Littlewood is a celebration of warmth, colour, and functionality—a home that imbues long-lasting style and practicality for the family to enjoy many years to come.
