Photographer Derek Swalwell’s anticipated exhibition, Farnsworth + Miller, portraying two modernist masterpieces, opens at the Fini Gallery in Melbourne today.

Celebrated Melbourne-based photographer Derek Swalwell, travelled to Plano, Illinois, and Colombus, Indiana in 2018, to document two of the world’s most iconic mid-century houses, Farnsworth House by Mies van der Rohe and Miller House by Eero Saarinen. A modernist masterpiece admirer’s dream come through - the resulting photographic works are printed in brilliant large format that truly depicts the houses’ under the unique conditions that Swalwell experienced. The photographs are to be unveiled to the public in an exhibition opening today, and will present the architectural mastery of the buildings, alongside the poignant narrative and sense of history as portrayed by Swalwell's work.
