Influenced by the light shades and feeling of summer, Rob Mills Architecture and Interiors (RMA) has designed nine large-scale in Armadale, Melbourne which embrace simplicity and a neutral and subdued coastal-inspired palette. Still in the preliminary stages, the apartments include RMA hallmarks – such as thoughtful design, sustainable materials, crafted textures, rich character and a strong connection to the land and location.

The nine large-scale residences are defined by space, light, texture and acoustics. Practical design elements in each apartment include three bedrooms, spacious living areas and large kitchens, all including a much-coveted butler’s pantry. From the outside, the signature design feature of the building is the series of arches across the building’s handcrafted brick façade. With the use of natural materials and a soft colour palette, these arches define the building’s character and give an abundance of light into the apartments. “We’ve tried to embed elements of Armadale’s rich architectural history - as an architect I always strive to make a contribution to our landscape, and to design a building that is new, fresh and unexpected,” shares Rob Mills. We are bursting at the seams to see this project complete - watch this space!

We’ve drawn upon our knowledge of single residences and apartment projects to create a building which is technologically advanced and sustainable.

We wanted to create interiors that remind you of summertime throughout the year - light palette with earthy tones was chosen to gently reflect the sunlight and be one with the bricked arches enclosing the interior.
