Hello Kerrie-Ann—can you introduce yourself?

I'm an interior stylist and gallery owner. I love to curate furniture, art and objects to add soul and personality to spaces and bring joy to homes.

Tell us a little about Kerrie-Ann Jones Gallery and how the idea first came about…

As a stylist, I discover many beautiful pieces both locally and internationally. I have always felt the itch to want to take these pieces home with me or share them with my audience. The idea of creating an online gallery has been brewing for a few years now, and this year, the time felt right when I was in Europe and the US for a work trip—I just had to bring these beautiful pieces back to Australia with me.

You have worked in the interior industry for many years now, do you feel that this new path has been a natural progression?

Yes, absolutely—I'm a creative person at heart and I'm always looking for ways to expand my creativity and offering to clients. I’ve had the idea bubbling away for a few years, so for me, it was the natural next step to combine both my love of style and discovering beautiful pieces in an online gallery platform.

Where have you mainly sourced the pieces of furniture in the mix—any favourite designers in the current collection?

The vintage furniture is mainly sourced from Europe. I love Italian designers like Afra & Tobia Scarpa, Gae Aulenti and Mario Bellini. I have coveted their pieces for years, so, as a big fan of their work, it's special to find these pieces and include them in the gallery collection.

These pieces tell a story, have lived a thousand lives and create ambience within a space. They are the layers that add depth and are points of interest that uplift the home.

What design element do you look for when adding new pieces into the gallery?

I’m looking to expand our artist repertoire to include a diverse range of mediums and styles. I seek out works with a unique quality or evocative feel. It's also important to consider if I can imagine these pieces in my home or of a client or see it's potential for a commercial space. But to put it simply, it's really about the feel. If I see something and I get excited by it, then I know we need it as part of our collection.

Is there a piece within the current collection that stands out for you the most?

That is like asking who is my favourite child… I love them all! But I’ve been coveting some pieces by Italian designers Afra & Tobia Scarpa for a few years now, so it's a highlight to have these pieces available, such as the Africa Chairs and the Fantasma floor lamp.

What is the value of purchasing vintage and unique pieces of furniture or art for our homes?

Vintage pieces and art add soul and personality to a home. These pieces tell a story, have lived a thousand lives and create ambience within a space. They are the layers that add depth and are points of interest that uplift the home. This is why I have created my gallery—to bring joy to people's homes with these beautiful treasures.

What can we expect to see from the gallery in the coming months?

I will release a new drop of furniture, art, objects and bespoke pieces once every three months. We have some incredible pieces for future drops. I can't wait to share them.

What are you most excited about when it comes to the gallery and its journey?

To see how it evolves. What started as a desire to share beautiful pieces through my platform has become bigger than I could imagine, and this is only the beginning!
