The Studio xOx showroom in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs feels more like a gallery space than a bathroom showroom.

‘We felt that we wanted to redefine what a bathroom showroom should look like. Building a home is a highly stressful process, so we wanted our customers to feel relaxed in our space rather than overwhelmed,’ says Studio xOx founder, Jonathan Tsoupis.

Designed by Mia Lake Interiors, the brief for the interior was to capture the essence of an Australian rainforest.

‘This involved multiple revisions to the design and floor plan until we felt we had it right – we wanted to create a studio that felt premium, let our products breathe and was quintessentially Australian,’ says Jonathan.

‘The standout for us would be the curves of the studio that have become a part of our brand DNA. For us curves are timeless, and our curved rendered walls have become an iconic feature of our studio,’ he adds.

The Studio xOx mission is to inspire and promote Australian-made craftsmanship in a sustainable way, focusing on the story behind the product, promoting longevity and timeless design.

‘Less is more when it comes to product for xOx and we make an effort to partner with the right suppliers who not only understand our vision but create timeless, quality products that are built to last,’ says Jonathan.

Makers include Lindsey Wherrett, Faucet Strommen, Nood Co and Concrete Collective, as well as Studio xOx’s own range of bespoke bathware products, which are all made locally.

‘We often like to refer to our aesthetic as “The best of Australia” as it truly captures the best of what our country and makers have to offer. If every person walks away from our studio feeling inspired by Australian design and manufacturing, then we’re doing our jobs.’

‘Terrazzo is something we’ve always wanted to do but never had a reason for, it’s a very time-consuming product. When xOx came along we both believed there was a market for it,’ says Concrete Collective director Michael Mitris. Photo: Pablo Viega

‘As a brand we are incredibly conscious of reducing our impact where we can. Part of this is ensuring that we partner with suppliers who share our values,’ says Jonathan Tsoupis. Photo: Pablo Viega

‘Quality joinery was always the goal. Product development began as early as 2017 when the first sketch of our best-selling QUE vanity came about – we wanted a vanity that ticked all the boxes, one that was timeless in design yet didn’t compromise on quality,’ says Jonathan Tsoupis.
