Artist Statement
My latest body of work delves deep into the realms of where chaos and calm collide, navigating the blurred lines between beauty and grit, fast and slow.
Often when I’m creating, time loses its grip. I immerse myself in the creative process, finding solace and wonder in a distorted perception of time. It’s my own personal version of some kind of wonderland.
The work reflects these conflicting themes, the glowing quality of the fluorescent and pastel shades juxtaposed with the harsh black represents the clashing subject matter. The canvas itself becomes a symbol of this middle ground, carefully stitched together to further emphasise the merging of opposites.
