Three Day Clay offers visitors an opportunity to meet the artists in person – most who don’t have open studios – and explore a wide range of styles and techniques of working with this exciting medium,’ says Kate Bowman. Photo: Ben Glezer

Three Day Clay originally launched in 2019 as a long-weekend pop-up on Smith Street, Collingwood. Five years later, the weekend event is going strong - back this Mother’s Day for a three day dose of all things ceramic, each and every piece unique and made lovingly by hand.

Run by ceramic artists Kelly Murphy, Kate Bowman and Kate Brouwer in the newly opened Pauli Concept Store in the heart of Brunswick, the pop-up will include ceramic tableware, sculpture and a new addition: artworks - all available to purchase.

‘There’s nothing more special than drinking out of a one-of-a-kind mug from the likes of Leah Jackson or adorning your walls with a piece from Kayleigh Heydon or Clare Dubina, knowing that nobody else in the world has the same piece. How special is that!’ shares Kate Bowman.

This year’s selection will include vibrant pieces by ceramic artists Asobimasu Clay, At The Table, Benna co, Ghost Wares, Kate Bowman Ceramics, Kirsten Olds and Peta Armstrong.

Three Day Clay is on from Friday 12th - Sunday 14th May at 55 Sydney Road, Brunswick.

Melbourne’s clay community is thriving. As well as supporting the artists individually, shopping locally handmade pieces helps build this sense of community and connection with the hands that make them.

‘There will be something for everyone and every budget – from sculptural pieces to your favourite new mug, tableware to tiled wall hangings, we’ve thoughtfully curated our artists to help visitors discover a bounty of unique wares,’ says Kate Bowman. Photo: Ben Glezer
